Amala developed the first international high school curriculum for young people who are displaced, alongside our founding partner school UWC South East Asia. This 15-month programme launched for the first time in Jordan in June 2020 and will launch in Kenya later. The aim is to become a scalable solution to the acute lack of secondary education provision for young refugees worldwide. Amala also runs short programmes for refugee youth in collaboration with local partners on topics such as Ethical Leadership, Peace-building and Social Entrepreneurship. Over the past 3 years, we have run programmes in seven countries (Jordan, Lebanon, Kenya, Trinidad & Tobago, Hong Kong, Greece and Bangladesh).
Staff members and students at UWCSEA in Singapore have helped develop the curriculum for Amala programmes.
