Assistant Director, Employability and Student Affairs


Job Responsibilities

- Assisting the ESA HOD with planning and implementing strategies for ESA
- Monitoring progress towards department goals and objectives, including management of projects as assigned
- Monitoring activities assigned to other staff members, providing coaching and identifying training needs were applicable
- Assisting the ESA HOD to establish and enforce budgets, timelines, and metrics. Ensuring agreed deadlines are met for all deliverables. Owning the tracking of actual v budget and LE’s and all related submissions to Finance. Approving budgeted spending and employee expenses within parameters agreed with ESA HOD
- Undertaking annual and ad hoc process reviews and authoring/reviewing review papers, SOP reviews and updates. Fostering a culture of continuous process improvement across the ESA team
- Supporting ESA HOD with the management of Kaplan Industry Advisory Boards (IAB)
- Attending IAB-related events, including board meetings. Taking and distributing minutes for Board meetings in a timely manner. Coaching suitable team members to take over minute taking or cover for such responsibilities in the longer term
- Managing and screening social media postings for the ESA team
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with corporate partners, staff and including student club members and alumni


- A degree in any discipline
- At least 8 years’ relevant working experience
- A good working knowledge of the education sector and its regulations, standards, and procedures.
- Good knowledge on budget planning and monitoring expenditure
- Good leadership, management, and people skills
- Enthusiastic and having a student centric mindset is necessary
- Is confident in collaborating with external stakeholders
- Proven experience in managing/leading teams
- Possess excellent writing and communications skills, meticulous and critical thinking skills
