
Mastering Robotic Process Automation with UiPath

This course will provide student with a good grasp of Robotic Process Automation using UiPath, a popular RPA platform.

Michael Tan, a Senior Lecturer at Nanyang Business School, is currently teaching a course titled "Robotics Process Automation in Analytics.", a module of the Master of Science in Business Analytics degree. In 2019, he began teaching Robotics Process Automation (RPA) using UiPath at the Institute of Systems Science, National University of Singapore. In 2023, he published a teaching case titled "Planning for a Successful Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Project and Beyond." His competence and passion to teaching were recognized when he got UiPath's "Educator of the Week" award. Michael's skills and views have earned him a spot on a panel at the upcoming Automation Asia virtual conference, as well as guest lectures on RPA at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and the Institute of Engineering Management (IEM). Prior to joining Nanyang Business School, he spent 11 years teaching at National University of Singapore.

Lectures
Participants are required to bring their personal laptops with the necessary software and administrative rights. If a participant does not have administrative privileges on their laptop, the following software should be installed before attending the course:
UiPath Studio 2022.10.10
Chrome extension: UiPath Web Automation 22.10
The operating system should be either Windows 10 or 11 (please note that UiPath Studio is not compatible with MacOS). Additionally, participants should have Google Chrome version 64 installed as their web browser, along with Microsoft Office 2019 or 365. It's essential to have the desktop versions of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and a PDF (Portable Document Format) reader, such as Adobe Acrobat, installed as well.
Students are expected to possess fundamental programming skills, with a preference for familiarity in VB.Net. Proficiency in other languages such as Python, C, C#, or Java is acceptable.
Students must possess intermediate proficiency in English, ensuring they can effectively engage with course materials and participate in discussions.
Students should be enrolled in middle school, high school, or college, allowing them to benefit from the content tailored to their academic level.
